Full Knee (Open) Compression Sleeve Uses

The Full Knee Helix (Open) Compression Sleeve is best suited when a full knee support and compression is desired but pressure on the patella is to be avoided because of patellofemoral pain syndrome. Please see our Full Knee Helix if knee support, compression to the entire knee and stabilisation of the patella is desired. Similar to the Full Knee Helix, the Full Knee Helix (Open) is a full knee compression brace that is excellent for knee sprains and knee injuries including minor sprains to the medial and lateral stabilising knee ligaments.

Comfort with compression is achieved for minor meniscus, anterior and posterior knee injuries. Posterior pressure is not placed on the patella. If you have had surgery on your knee, either an open or laparoscopic procedure, our Full Knee Helix is advised to provide uniform support to the injured tissues. If you have been advised to use a support with an opening for the patella, the Full Knee Helix (Open) is ideal.

What is the difference in styles? The Adjustable Knee Helix is shorter than the Full Knee Helix (Open) and is easier to put into position. If you are choosing a knee support to manage knee pain related to arthritis, the Adjustable Knee Helix is recommended because of the ease of placement.

A proper fit is important. It is very important to measure at the knee cap in order to get the proper fit for your knee support. Please do not measure your thigh.
